Maternal Sleep Consulting

Everyone talks about the baby's sleep. Nobody is asking about yours.

Your sleep matters too.

The entire world of sleep support is focused on getting your baby to sleep through the night. Meanwhile, you are lying awake at 2am even when the baby is sleeping, running on fragmented rest for months or years, and being told this is just part of motherhood. It is not. Your sleep is a health issue that deserves its own attention.

Maternal sleep is different.

Your sleep challenges are not the same as general insomnia or your baby's sleep struggles. Hormonal shifts, hypervigilance, anxiety, breastfeeding schedules, and the nervous system changes of new parenthood all create a unique sleep profile. You need an approach that understands the full picture of maternal sleep, not just generic sleep hygiene tips.

What we address together.

We look at everything affecting your rest: your sleep environment, your routines and timing, the way anxiety and vigilance are wired into your nighttime experience, hormonal factors, and the practical constraints of your current stage of motherhood. Then we build a realistic, personalized plan that works within your actual life.

This is not about perfection.

The goal is not eight uninterrupted hours, because that may not be realistic right now. The goal is maximizing the quality and quantity of sleep you can get in your current circumstances, while addressing the factors that are making your sleep worse than it needs to be. Even small improvements in maternal sleep have outsized effects on mood, patience, and overall wellbeing.

How this differs from CBT-I.

CBT for Insomnia is a powerful, evidence-based protocol for clinical insomnia. Maternal sleep consulting takes a broader view: it addresses the full spectrum of sleep challenges specific to mothers, including fragmented sleep, difficulty returning to sleep after nighttime feeds, anxiety-driven wakefulness, and the transition back to consolidated sleep as your baby grows. For some clients, both approaches work beautifully together.

Imagine a new you.

You close your eyes and your body actually lets go. The vigilance softens. You sleep, and when you wake for the baby, you return to sleep without the spiral. You feel the difference in the morning: clearer, calmer, more like yourself. That is what we are working toward.

You have been putting everyone else's sleep first. Let's make yours a priority too. Book a free 20-minute consultation and let's talk about getting you the rest you deserve.
