Walk & Talk Therapy
Movement changes the conversation.
Some conversations are easier side by side.
There is a reason the hardest talks happen in the car. When you are not sitting face to face, the pressure drops. Walking works the same way. Facing the same direction, moving at the same pace, the intensity softens and the things that felt impossible to say in an office find their way into the open.
Nature-based, clinically grounded.
Walk-and-talk sessions are not casual strolls. They are structured therapy that uses movement and the natural environment as part of the work: active processing and structured interventions, built on the same evidence-based approaches I use in every format, including TEAM-CBT, DBT, ACT, and the Gottman Method.
Where we walk.
Sessions take place at a pre-arranged riverfront location in Bend, along the Deschutes at the Old Mill District river walk. You show up, we walk, and you get to be present. No screen, no waiting room, no performing.
Your baby is welcome.
Babies come along in a stroller or a carrier, whatever works for you. Chairs and blankets are available whenever we settle, so you are never choosing between your own care and your baby's comfort.
What a session looks like.
Each session follows the same structure as any other: we check in, we work the plan, and we pause on a bench for the harder pieces. And if Bend weather does not cooperate, your session simply moves online or in-home. Your care does not get cancelled by a snowstorm.
Imagine a new you.
It is a Thursday afternoon. The river is moving beside you, and so is your therapist. You are talking about the thing you have been carrying all week, and the movement makes it easier to hold. You leave the path lighter than you arrived. That is what this format is for.
If the thought of sitting across from someone in an office has kept you from starting, this format might change that. Book a free 20-minute consultation and let's talk about whether walk-and-talk is the right fit for you.
